The fourth bridge and the most modern of the Grand Canal, which communicate the Piazzale Roma to the railway station of Saint Lucia, is called Ponte della costituzione. Its realization was entrusted to the Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, well known for its projects in Buenos Aires with the "Puente de la Mujer" or in Athens with the "Bridge of Kathak".

The beginning of works began in 2003.

A bridge of 94 meters long, 6 meters wide with a maximum of 9 meters to the centre. Stylistically modern steel structured with glass floor, brass rails with LED lamps that illuminate the glass railings too.

The bridge was opened to pedestrian traffic the night of 11 September 2008.
